Ex-SMKA Miri Iftar Gathering

MIRI, SATURDAY, September 27, 2008. An iftar gathering was held at Nasi Lemak Rasa Segar opposite of Kampung Wireless. The particpants mostly have chosen the buffet style (sort of - buffet tapi makanan dah habis sebelum waktu buka puasa) and a few of them have chosen ala-carte menu. The restaurant which is well-known of Nasi Lemak was well-packed with people. The participants of the gathering were Puan Normah, Puan Faridzah & husband (with 2 nephews), Cik Rogayah, Cik Aswita, Cik Dayang Noryasmin, Cik Haliza and the writer himself. The Iftar gathering started with the loud voice of Cik Aswita as she was the one who was really excited to see the crowds. (No wonder she was called as 'R_b*t' back in our school days). Along the event, there were hundreds of picture shootings with different poses. The picture snappings were taken not only from Cik Rogayah's superb camera, but also came from the camera of Cik Dayang and the writer. The end-products are excellent. In my next posting, I will share the pictures taken during this gathering. After completing our food, we decided to go to Imperial mall to have a look at a tripod at Sony Centre as Cik Rogayah planned to have one. However, we went out without a tripod and landed up in Madli Restaurant: Cik Dayang spared some of her purse content on Satay and drinks. In short, the gathering was a succcess and we are looking forward to have another one. To all of you guys : thanks a lot. Muahhhhsssssssssss.........
With Love;

Salam Sejahtera

Thanks to the Rabbal Izzati.....I feel much better today.....My chest is not really painful when I cough. Thanks again.

As in this posting, I have a lot of things to share. However, I will only share something that happened to me this morning.

Every Thursday, my class is very early as 6.50 - 8.10 am. I will be entering 5 Science 2 for English in Science Technology class. In my previous lesson, I have given them a chance to copy down an article about Diabetes. So, I expected them to bring along the written copy. Guess! Few of them told me: Teacher, mine is at the hostel. I felt like to cut their head. What a stupid reason.

I spent more than 30 minutes nagging at them. All the things that I kept all this while I threw it out to them. They get as good as they deserved. I wonder, will they change?

When I think it again, in my own experience, I never did this when I was schooling (correct me if I am wrong my fellow schoolmates). Especially when it came to teachers who I really afraid of. Sejarah - Puan Bhal, BI - Puan Hai, BM - Cik Zahura, Maths - Puan Bahjah, Syariah - Ust Bakti. I would try my best to do all the given tasks as perfect as I could.

In Sejarah, Puan Bhal taught me to be perfect. I still remembered she pushed me and all my classmates to write essays and essays especially when the SPM was around the corner. Puan Hai with her English essays and dictionary reading. Cik Zahura - she was furious when I got F9 in my second trial (because of the foolish essay that I wrote about a setinggan village with beautiful scenaries). Puan Bahjah - she always compared me with Ezzardin (the best math student - sort of). Last but not least Ust Bakti with his X-ray eyes. I did not dare to look him in the eyes. He always claimed that he could see what the bad things we did... scary ooo....

And then again when we look it back, most of the past generation products are very independent. Most of the us have a very stable career and life. I wonder what will happen to this new generation where they are really dependent. They even are spoon-fed in the class. They do not even bother to bring a dictionary to school. They never ask questions but expect their teachers to give answers. The greater part is, they never appreaciate the efforts done by their teachers. The very best example that I can share is the one that happened to me. Wrote on the whiteboard, asked them to copy down and finally when I wanted to discuss, they told me that they have left their copy in the hostel.

Oh my Lord, I surrender myself to your Greatness and wish that You could award me with Patience and Resilience. I pray to the Al Mighty in hoping that I will be more passionate and resourceful to face the future. Aminnnnn....................

The more I write, the

Ntah apa apa ntah

I don't feel well. Down with flu. No idea to share. My feeling is still blue....
Last whole week, I have watched a Japanese Series "Hana Yori Dango 1 and 2". It is a Japanese version of Meteor Garden. The plots and the characters gave huge impact on my emotion....Berangan je lebih....
Now....still terbayang-bayang the main characters... Tak caye, you watch it by yourself...better than Meteor Garden.
Yesterday, bought another Japanese boxset..."Innocent Witch". I had watched this series earlier but I felt like to watch it again. I have not touch it yet. It is still nicely in Speedy plastic bag. I think I better watch it after I finish marking my exam papers.... Huhuhuhu.....two classes to correct......tinggal essays part je....x larat....
Till the next posting....Sorry...No pics include....Still could not find my digi cam....Misplace....

It's Raining.....

Dillah once wrote about raining, and here let me write another version of it. In my work place, when it rains, it means muddy shoes....ahhaaaaa(ala ala Miss Fran Fine in 'The Nanny'). As the fifth day of Ramadhan which on Friday, rain poured down starting from dawn and I heard from my friends (via ym), it is still raining at the time I type this posting. Must be very cold. So, the activities of teaching and learning will be very slow too. We teachers, we have this syndrome, "It's raining class, very comfortable right. So we better save our voice and enjoy the weather. Do exercises from this page to this page!" or worst "Sleepy huh! Me too! Do your own work k!" Then, the teacher will bury his/her face in a bunch of essays or books that need to be corrected. One of colleagues did say about a statement referring to Bakongites teachers. "Unpolished shoes with mud, must be SMK Bakong teachers...." Our school SMK Bakong Miri even though has received a lot of awards (Sekolah Harapan Negara and Kualiti Menteri Pelajaran), we still far behind in term of facilities. We do not have enough rooms, enough laboratories, small staffroom (when it comes to a transitional phase : Morning and Afternoon session teachers in the staffroom, it will be crowded and noisy) and muddy pathways. However, there are a lot of improvement been done by the school communities. The students and the other teachers (a.k.a not me) do a lot of things that make the school alive. The new project is the clock tower; an imitation of Big Ben I guess....In the next posting I will share some of the pictures of the school. Happy Fasting!!!!!

I present to you KPLI 2005 - Pengajian Inggeris/English Literature

When I was in secondary level, I was never thinking that I would be an English Teacher one day. In present, now I am one. I never had problem in learning English before this. Even though I was not an excellent one, but I performed very well I guess. Hehehehe....

Amongst all the teachers that taught me those days, Puan Hairani has changed my view about learning English. She was my English teacher when I was in Form 4 and Form 5. When we heard her name that she will be teaching us last time, seram sejuk you know as she was very stricta nd ganas in her previous school (she taught in St. Columba before SMK Agama).

However, our view on her changed when later we found out that she was different from what we heard. Apart from being stylo, she is kind and very hardworking. I am proud to say that most of her end products are successful in their life. Hehehe....

I met her again when I had my post graduate diploma in Maktab Sarawak back in year 2005. She is a lecturer and on that year, she taught us on grammars. Susah beb.... What ever it is...I really salute you madame...you are the best English teacher I have in my life.

Long life Puan Hai.......

Puasa...puasa....Puasa........

On the third day of Ramadhan, now I can feel the challenge. It is so difficult to restrain myself from cursing my students.. It is so frustrating when this week I will start marking their examination papers. As if, I never let them know about their silly mistakes. Not only that, their spelling...Very terrible.. Now I know a lot of new spelling...macam-macam ada. Mengarut and rubbish...boleyyyy...
